amanda + dylan are married! | fernandina beach elopement | elopement photographer | jacksonville, fl photographer

June 12, 2013 | Fernandina Beach, FL Elopement

Floral Arrangement: Artistic Florist, Fernandina Beach, FL

It was seriously such an HONOR and a PLEASURE to be a part of Amanda & Dylan’s surprise elopement. :) Their families knew they were engaged, but they didn’t know when they planned on eloping- so it was a big surprise for nearly everyone! I showed up at their home, and drove to the courthouse with them. When they were signing their license, the lady at the courthouse asked if they had a witness. Amanda & Dylan looked each other, and then looked at me… and I raised my hand! They had a very short, but sweet ceremony in front of the Fernandina Beach courthouse, filled with smiles & laughs. We then hopped back in their car, and drove back to their house. A few hours later we met back up for their formal after session. We had the most beautiful light and setting… and I barely even had to give Amanda & Dylan any direction. They were truly so happy just to be together and to be married, and it definitely showed. Congrats to the newlyweds, and again.. thank you for trusting me with your wedding memories, it was such a blast!

*Cell phone picture Amanda took of me, signing their marriage license. :) SO COOL!

Casey + Josh are MARRIED! | Costa Rica wedding | destination wedding photographer | Los Suenos Resort, Costa Rica | Jacksonville FL wedding photographer

May 24, 2013 / Los Suenos Resort | Costa Rica

Ceremony: Los Suenos Resort, Costa Rica
Reception Venue: Casa de Los Suenos, Costa Rica
Bridal Gown: J Crew

Where do I even begin!? Let’s start with COSTA RICA… lol! This was Brent and I’s very first DESTINATION wedding… & we were so honored to photograph an amazing day for our sweet friends, Josh & Casey. I should probably mention that literally almost every single day that we were in Costa Rica, it rained- since right now is their rainy season. Even if it was gorgeous in the morning- by afternoon the clouds rolled in, and the rain showed it’s face. The ONLY day the rain completely held off for the entire day- was Josh & Casey’s big day- talk about being blessed!! Their ceremony was short and sweet. The really cool part about it though, was Casey & Josh were married by Josh’s best friend Phil (now aka, Father Phil)- who got his notary just so he could marry them. After the ceremony everyone retreated to the beach house that they rented for the week- and that’s where the party got started! Everyone changed into their bathing suits, and we had a pool party! It was filled with an epic bouquet and garter toss INTO the POOL (we have never seen that done before! lol), and a hilarious drinking game (literally called, “THE GAME”). Oh, and I almost forgot to mention. I hope everyone enjoys the Harlem Shake pictures!! It starts with the bride and groom with lampshades on their heads… look closely at each individual image after that one for a bunch of laughs! Incase you haven’t gotten the overall “gist” of the day- it was a BLAST. Brent and I loved photographing this wedding, as well as being able to spend the occasion with a bunch of our friends. :) Congratulations, Casey & Josh… and we wish you two the BEST of luck in this brand new chapter of your life! xxoo

What a great wedding …

amy + sean are married!! | san jose country club wedding | jacksonville fl | jacksonville wedding photographer

May 4, 2013 / San Jose Country Club | Jacksonville, FL

Amy & Sean’s wedding day didn’t turn out exactly how they had planned it. On May 4th- Jacksonville saw the biggest rain storm of 2013, to date. It wasn’t one of those days where it rains a little and then passes- the entire day it torrentially down poured. However, the rain didn’t stop Amy & Sean from having the most amazing day, and most importantly- on becoming ONE. As you scroll through all the beautiful images from this day, there are a few extra special details that Amy put so much time and thought into as she planned her wedding. Amy wore her mother’s veil as her “something old”, it was made by her grandmother. Her GORGEOUS bouquet (Thank you Rose of Sharon!) was wrapped beautifully in her mother’s wedding dress, that was also handmade by her grandmother. Her something borrowed was her deceased grandmother’s wedding ring. And finally Amy had requested a very special picture in remembrance of her little sister who has passed away… & it still moves me to tears nearly every time I look at it. It was an honor to be a part of capturing such precious memories for Amy and her family, and I couldn’t be happier for the bride and groom. They are truly wonderful people, and I am excited and happy for them as they start this brand new chapter in their lives. Amy, it was a pleasure being your photographer- and more importantly becoming your friend. :)

Alexa + Chris are Married! | Jacksonville Wedding Photographer | Ramona Pavilion Wedding

Reception Venue: Ramona Pavilion
Cake Artist: Kakes by Katie
Bridal Gown: David’s Bridal
Bridesmaid Dresses: David’s Bridal
Groomsman: Men’s Wearhouse
Photobooth: Shutterbooth Jacksonville

I met Alexa back in 2008/2009, when we worked together at Ale House. :) We’ve remained in contact over Facebook briefly since- and as soon as I saw she was engaged I was hoping she’d ask me to be her photographer! :) She is such a gorgeous girl inside and out, (oh- and I loved her ring too- and totally wanted to play with it!) Alexa and Chris are also huge Detroit Red Wing (Hockey!) fans, since Chris is from the same basic area in Detroit as I am from! With that in common, I knew we’d get along perfectly & have such a blast on their wedding day… and I was right! Chris and Alexa’s day was amazing.. a simple, to the point *but* suuuuper sweet ceremony, followed by some amazing formals they let us drag them around for (hehe!), and a dance-filled after party to celebrate the occasion. Oh, and be on the lookout for the epic picture in this blog post of Brent breaking it down on the dance floor, and teaching Alexa how to wobble! (LOL!) Alexa & Chris, we had such a blast at your wedding, and we hope you love the pictures as much as we loved taking them. Congrats you two!! xox

Reception Venue: North Hampton Golf Club
Floral: Zahn’s Flowers
Cake Artist: Publix
DJ: Lee w/ D’Land Entertainment
Hair Artist: Margaret w/ Kaleidoscope Hair Studio
Bridal Gown: David’s Bridal, Oleg Cassini
Bridesmaid Dresses: David’s Bridal

Savannah & Dustin’s wedding was the perfect day. The bride was beautiful, the weather was gorgeous, and the ceremony was very sweet. I knew I was going to have a blast at this wedding, immediately following Savannah & Dustin’s engagement session…they are so much fun together & so in love. What more can a photographer ask for? :) There were a lot of emotion evoking moments during this wedding. While getting ready, the bride’s mom gave her a BEAUTIFUL bracelet & earring set that they had discussed would be a new family heirloom, and the bride also surprised her mom with a special mother/daughter dance during the reception that pretty much had everyone in tears. Not to mention, the daddy/daughter dances as well as the mother/son dance. The bride and groom also had a cake for Savannah’s nana- since it was her birthday! :) Also I should mention, Brent and I basically risked our lives (and the bridal party’s!) with the beautiful formals we took out on the golf course. We rushed out of the reception with the MOH & BM to take some sunset pictures, and as soon as we got to the spot we were taking the pictures at- some crazy golfers started driving balls at the hole we were on! But nobody was hurt (thankfully!), and it was worth it. :) Thanks so much to Savannah and Dustin for trusting us with your precious wedding memories. We hope you love love LOVE the pictures, and wish you two the best of luck! xoxo

As wedding days go, they don’t get much more perfect than this. The combination of the beautiful location, stunning weather and re-united families that now live on opposite sides of the world made this even more special.Beautiful dress.
