When Erica and I first met, we totally hit it off right away and became instant friends. Because Erica is a wonderful photographer herself up in North Carolina, I was so honored (and excited!) that she asked me to be the one to photograph her and Ben’s special day. We decided early on that we were going to work hard to get their wedding featured on the fabulous Style Me Pretty Blog… and WE DID!- which is why this blog post of her wedding is running a bit late! We had to let SMP feature it before I was allowed to share the gorgeousness of her day on my personal blog. ;)

In reality, I could talk about Erica & Ben’s wedding myself and tell you about all the lovely details – but since Erica had submitted a little description for the SMP blog herself, I think I will just use a bit of her wording to describe their perfect day.

“I wanted the day to feel like “us” – effortless and fun. Ben and I met in Raleigh, North Carolina, but I’m originally from a small town in South Georgia, about 20 minutes from Amelia Island, Florida. When we pictured the perfect backdrop for our wedding day, all we could think about was being surrounded by family and friends…and GORGEOUS spanish moss-covered oak trees. As soon as we toured the property at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation, we knew Walker’s Landing was the perfect place to say our “I Do’s! One very special detail was placing my father’s wedding band on my bouquet. He passed away a year almost two years ago, so it was incredibly special to have a part of him with me as I walked down the aisle. The day could not have gone any more perfect. It was everything that we ever wanted. Lots of love, laughter, and dancing all night. Complete and utter effortlessness and a day I’ll never forget!”
